it means that simplicity is to be the main focus. The design lack in ornamentation to avoid being to bulking or unneeded. All 10 steps fit together in different ways. But the most important detail is satisfaction from the eye.

make it extremely simple, a box of cake with a nice picture of a cake printed outside not a honest design, if that is not the exact cake you are getting. a transparent cake box may be more honest design.

honest means it has to do with the intentions behind the design, what the purpose of it is, it's possible impacts. If the designer is an honest person then the design probably will be too
