A documentary about the nationwide search for three young actors to share the lead role in Broadway's Billy Elliot the Musical offers viewers an exclusive look at how David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish were chosen to play Billy Elliot after a year-long national talent search that drew thousands of hopefuls from all over the country. Auditions were held in cities across the country and all three of the Broadway Billys, along with twelve other finalists, underwent a grueling ten day callback last summer in New York City during which director Stephen Daldry and choreographer Peter Darling worked with them extensively.

I saw the show with seats in the Mezzanine, all the way to the right. There were certain scenes where certain people couldn't be seen but, I didn't miss any dance's or anything major and I still understood what was going on. My advice, is look for something in the center. Its amazing no matter how close you are.
Hello everryone who's been at the play in Broadway. A question for you. I'm planning to get tickets for January. I'll be there for aweek on holiday. about the theatre: will I have a good view if I buy cheaper seats? Tks for answering!
Trent performed on opening night, but Kiril performed the first night of the previews.

I was at this play when I went to NYC for a trip about 2 weeks ago AMAZING!
My lil bro auditioned and get down to the very final stage before you go to billy elliot camp but the producer's decided he didn't have the right personality like he was too nice and young and sweet for the part.... he was 9 at the time
I'm pretty sure this aired on PBS but only in New York
