Somebody somewhere had to really clean this recording up, it sounds awesome. A lot of Hank's old recordings have that "old" pop and hiss, etc., but the singing and musicianship were always top notch. He was and will always remain the single best country songwriter that ever lived. Most of these new "country" ( and I use that word as loosely as possible) singers suck goat ass, pure and simple.
anyone know if he made it to alaska?
Hank was such a prolific songwriter and tried so hard to please Audrey. Bless the 'ole poor boy's heart ~BCK
I uploaded more Hank here - Google; 'archive+Hank Williams Sr. (Various)'
My Lord, here's another gem on Hank that I never knew about. How much more is still out there?
There has never been another performer like Hank Williams and may never be. He had the best of the best in his music. He just died to soon, he will never be forgotten.
Ordrey killed him...Hank always called his wife Ordrey...
I was raised in Alex city , always was told Hank sr was in that ole alexander city al jail ...its still there in the same spot
That's the first time I ever heard Hank's speaking voice. Cool! Thanks for uploading. I'm a huge Hank Sr fan!
The Caddy at the end, is that "THE" Caddy? I'll bet it is, I've seen it at the museum in Montgomery that Cecil Jackson put together, now run by Cecils daughter Beth Petty.
Beautiful steel from Don Helms, Jerry Rivers on the fiddle and it may well be Fred Rose on the piano?
Perscription drug abuse, perscribed by a quack doctor, not to be confused with the shit todays junkies shove in their arms or snort up their noses, big difference. Don Helms quite often pointed this out during interviews.
he was the greatest
HANK III, that's WHO!
Who would play Hank???
Audrey looks like Beverly D'Angelo in this picture. Movie, perhaps?
Interesting. His speaking voice is a lot deeper than I expected.
OR read the book, "Still in love with you" written by hank sr's step daughter who was pretty much raised by him lycrecia williams. it goes into great detail about a lot of issues its really interesting but so sad
Actually, he was overdosed on morphine by an unlicensed doctor. Watch this documentary, his grandson explains the story. /watch?v=nWLxh-nSf0k&feature=r elated
though many say he died from the Lovesick Blues
Yeah right, go ahead and believe that......from my great grandmothers friends who were in the Trashville I mean Nashville buis......."He was seen dead on the elevator before he ever got in that Cadillac".......also didnt a Dr (and not in the Western/American sense of the word) give him morphine......why would a Dr give a passed out drunk guy morphine????.......Trashville and Audrey killed Hank Sr and she damned near killed Hank Jr
yessir!! It's a gotta have!!!
Heart Attack, brought on by alcohol and drug abuse.
Wow that sounds like it'd be very interesting to hear! I'm definitely gonna look into that, thank you very much!
