I'm sorry, what? Occupy Providence was outside the conference all weekend. Many Netroots goers joined our March on Saturday. We mike checked the conference. We were at panels and workshops. Our demands: No taxpayer bailout for 38 Studios (former Red Sox pitchers failed business that is leaving RI on the hook for $75 million. Tax the rich. Solidarity, not Austerity.
Great job Alyona. You are one of the few broadcast journalists seriously reporting on the Occupy phenomena and your work is greatly appreciated. After the police state eviction actions against Occupy this past winter people are looking for the next move. It is happening with Occupy Our Homes at least in one instance. Two actions took place in DC while you were in RI. Suppression at the high level has lead to a diffusion at the local level. Its not quite as noticeable yet but it is growing.

Great interview but the question to on cities Occupy to Occupy Prov is unfortunate, let's be clear the movement was suppressed. They do it because it strikes fear-which is what the 1% feels when they hear the word.
Also, "The Anarchists" have taken an unfair beating- the ones here were closer to Emma Goldman then those employing Black Bloc technique which some believe were provoctuers... Many activists went back to causes they had been working on that resonated with Occupy.
Here's another way for Matt Browner Hamlin's Web organization to help that requires little more than 30 seconds to sign a petition: j.mp / 41million
Alyona. Corporate Earth and Governments want their employees to know everything and the public to not know anything. What they don't realize is the employees are a major part of the public, and they have friends. If we had an ignorant public, then the world we live in now would not exist, ever. No banks, no Phones, not even Schools. We would be still in the Stone Age.
'...not going away, anytime soon...'...Except for the ONLY two "Occupy" 'mos who were 'Occupying' outside the day before, and left as soon as it started raining!? LULZ!!! Fuckin' pathetic...
Alyona, talk about Direct Democracy replacing representative democracy by and for the one percent. Then you and your network will really be focusing on Occupy's main goal.
Arresting some bankers - they'd have to be bankers who didn't contribute to any politicians, wouldn't they? Is there any wolf who can't afford sheep's clothing these days, who could be a sacrificial lamb . . . wait, my metaphors are going BL*E#R%K!
