JW best DJ on Caroline who influenced my taste in music. I used to go to bed with my radio under my pillow and couldn't go to sleep until after 11pm and Percy Sledge. Got me through some bad times in my early life. Greatest Radio Station ever.

nobodys mentioned tom lodge,he was the best disc jockey of them all,where is he now?

We still have not got free radio anymore. It is all government controlled. Yes after the fight we now have land based Local and National commercial radio stations but one step out of line and they lose their licence!

Johnnie Walker definitely, Alan Freeman maybe - but Kid Jenson, surely not? Can't deny he's very professional, but the music he plays is so bland!!

Johnnie Walker will be back on pirate airwaves easter weekend 2009 with Pirate bbc essex off the Harwich coast Essex....It really great reliving the 60's pirates, other origiinal pirate dj's will also be on there , and you can even get a boat out to see them , just like the good old days....God i used to love johnnie walker ..i was heartbroken when he went to radio 1 .....ah to be young!

Those days if radio will never return! So sad! But is did lead the way for indpendat rock!

Ironic Johnnie Walker ended up on BBC Radio 2 when he started off on Caroline a pirate station!!

yes you've got to praise Johnny Walker hes amongst the great djs ie Alan freeman-John Peel-Kid Jenson etc they epitimise quality adult djing.
